Job Summary
CBRE is seeking an energy analyst to support a large e-commerce, cloud computing, and digital streaming company to achieve their aggressive energy and sustainability goals. The scope for this position will begin by assisting the client in preparing for a large electric vehicle roll out. The role will also get exposure to supporting energy and sustainably programs, utility procurement, and energy efficiency programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop/improve a project management plan including detailed schedule, and a mechanism to track progress, changes, and project roadblocks, including any requested resources from the client to fully complete the deliverables.
- Initiate and maintain working relationships with utility stakeholders across North America.
- Initiate and maintain working relationships with construction managers and other local building staff across North America.
- File new applications for service with utilities.
- Perform various energy analysis.
- Maintain and optimize internal databases
- Learn and become familiar with the different regulated and deregulated energy markets and pricing components.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-works within a work unit and/or project.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Must have a collaborative, team oriented mindset
- Energetic and passionate about the energy and sustainability field
- Basic understanding of electrical power infrastructure including but not limited to power distribution, switchgear and metering.
- High comfort level in holding calls with construction managers and utility company stakeholders around topics such as power capacity requirements, construction timelines and charging infrastructure programs.
- Capability to read and interpret electrical one line diagrams.
- Understanding of project financials and cost implications.
- Highly proficient in Excel and Word. Experience in databases and database format preferred.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year College or university preferred. Minimum two years of related experience and/or training preferred.
Certificates and/or Licenses
CEM or EMIT accreditation preferred or interest in obtaining
Communication Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely reliable and courteous service to clients. Ability to effectively present information.
Financial Knowledge
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and qualitative skills.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to write reports, manuals in a pre-designed style and format.
Scope of Responsibility
Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgement may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
